Gather a few things
Large paper, chunky crayons, and a pen for the grown-up.
Let’s play
- A grown-up draws a wide trunk and a big leafy shape.
- Invite your toddler to add colorful marks wherever they want.
- Ask about one thing they enjoyed today, or offer two familiar choices.
- Write their word or your observation near a mark: Teddy, Grandma’s song, or the big bus.
A little learning to notice
Name familiar people, places, and moments while you make the picture.
Keep a little memory
Add one dated note another day, then keep the tree as a snapshot of family favorites.
Make it work for your child
A child can point, gesture, or just draw. Gratitude does not need to become a question they must answer.
