Gather a few things

Two differently sized, age-rated stuffed animals and two open baskets.

Let’s play

1. Place the two animals side by side.
2. Describe one as bigger and the other as smaller.
3. Try placing each in a basket and notice the space around it.
4. Switch places and invent a cozy bedtime for both.

Use bigger, smaller, fits, and more room as you explore together.

Keep a little memory

Record your toddler’s names for the two bears or their pretend conversation.

Make it work for your child

Start with one pair that looks very different in size. Avoid turning play into a quiz.
